우림산수 雨林山繡

안은선의 개인전 <우림산수>는 숲이라는 자연적 대상을 고정된 풍경이 아닌, 시간과 공기 속에 머물고 흐르는 ‘유동적인 상태’로 재해석하며 작가의 예술 세계를 총체적으로 조망한다. 이번 전시는 작가가 오랜 시간 탐구해 온 생명체와 그 연결망의 서사를 캔버스를 넘어 전시장 전체의 공간으로 확장한다. 얇고 투명한 오간자와 실의 반복적인 적층을 통해 구현된 작품들은 비 온 뒤 짙어진 숲의 내음을 환기하며, 관객을 시각을 넘어선 다양한 감각의 전이로 이끈다. 다년간의 작업으로 구성된 이번 전시는 단순한 풍경의 재현을 넘어, 작가가 작업 과정 속에서 끊임없이 ‘실을 달래며’ 길어 올린 흔적들이자, 현대인의 바쁜 일상 속에서 발견한 ‘호흡의 안식처’를 제시하는 수행적 공간이라 할 수 있다.

안은선은 생물 세포의 이미지와 그 연결망을 모티브 삼아 섬유예술의 영역에서 독보적인 조형 언어를 구축해왔다. 작가는 초기 평면적인 직조 방식에서 점차 공간에 뿌리내리듯 입체적으로 튀어나오는 설치 작업으로 영역을 확장하며, 위계 없이 자유롭게 증식하는 리좀(rhizome)적 관계망을 시각화하는 데 주목해왔다. 이러한 작업은 섬유예술을 현대미술의 문맥으로 끌어올리며, 작가 개인의 삶의 노고를 예술적 언어로 치환하는 ‘정신 수련의 흔적’으로 평가받는다. 작가는 다년간의 연작을 통해 자연의 원리를 탐구해 왔으며, 이번 전시를 통해 그러한 미시적 영감과 거시적 공간 감각을 하나의 유기적 생태계로 통합하였다.  비 온 뒤 숲의 잔향처럼 겹겹이 이어진 감각의 상태를 마주하는 이번 <우림산수>전은, 자연과 인간이 어떻게 호흡하며 공존할 수 있는지에 대한 깊이 있는 통찰을 전달한다.

Ahn Eun-sun’s solo exhibition, Rainforest Landscape (雨林山水), offers a comprehensive overview of the artist’s oeuvre by redefining the forest—a natural subject—not as a fixed landscape, but as a "fluid state" that lingers and flows within time and air. This exhibition expands the narrative of living organisms and their interconnected networks, which the artist has explored over many years, beyond the canvas and into the entirety of the exhibition space. Constructed through the iterative accumulation of thin, translucent organza and threads, the works evoke the thick scent of a forest after rain, guiding the viewer toward a multi-sensory transference that transcends mere sight. Comprising the fruits of her long-standing practice, this exhibition goes beyond the simple representation of scenery; it serves as a performative space that presents a "sanctuary for breathing" found amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, revealing the traces that the artist has painstakingly drawn out while continuously "soothing the threads" throughout her creative process.

She has forged a distinctive formal language within the realm of fiber art, drawing motifs from the imagery of biological cells and their interconnected webs. Her practice has expanded from early flat weaving techniques into three-dimensional, site-specific installations that seem to take root within the space, focusing on visualizing a rhizomatic network that propagates freely without hierarchy. Elevating fiber art into the context of contemporary art, her work is evaluated as a "monument of spiritual discipline" that transmutes the hardships of the artist’s personal life into an artistic tongue. Having investigated the principles of nature through various series over the years, the artist integrates such microscopic inspirations and macroscopic spatial sensibilities into a single, organic ecosystem in this exhibition. Confronting a state of layered sensations—much like the lingering after-scent of a forest after rain—Rainforest Landscape delivers a profound insight into how nature and humanity can breathe and coexist.
